As you may know, tomorrow, July 1, IZ staff have organized the fist annual International Polychaete Day in commemoration of the late Kristian Fauchald, who passed away 4 April 2015 and who would have turned 80 on this day. What better way to remember and celebrate a great polychaetologist, mentor and friend than by sharing with the world the amazing animals he reveled in for 59 years?! Below is an update of currently known activities and posts planned for the day. Please let us know if there are others.

A tribute to Kristian Fauchald. Thank you to Craig Young and Alice Wood for making this possible. Among the articles there is the Editorial by Lisa Levin, Greg Rouse, and Maria Cristina Gambi (volume editors) with a short outline of Kristian’s career. The first article is by Linda Ward and summarized all the species dedicated to Kristian as of 2005.
