This illustration depicts the extinct plant, Romulea sulphurea Beg., (Iridaceae) which was collected amid rocks in 1897 in Cape Province, South Africa. It has not been seen since. The type is part of the holdings of the U.S. National Herbarium. This is a life-size drawing of the watercolor featured in the Red Alert exhibition.
